The season when our souls locate and abide in a new abode called the doctrine of Christ is the season when we have come over the love for the (old) things that are in this world; things under the influence of the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life (2Jn. 1:9, 2Cor. 5:17, 1Jn. 2:15b).
The goal of the preaching of the gospel of Christ, is to make us passionate or free enough to love the truth that is in Christ; which alone can prepare us to receive the truth that is of the Father. To be separated unto the Father of all spirits or from sin and death, a believer simply has to deny ungodliness and shun worldly lusts to a place where he can stand and receive the judgments of everlasting righteousness, and thereby, be made perfect.
A meek man is one who has been led through seasons and taught not to judge, do or say anything of his own, but to constantly live by the strength of God’s grace and in His sight. Meekness remains a violent instrument against the kingdoms of this world.
The litmus test behind the trials and temptations that come the way of those who have profited with the faith of the Son or who are being introduced to everlasting life, is to prove their ability not to be offended – or to still trust the Father when His seeming inaction to their plight doesn’t go down well with them. The Lord permits them to try or further purify our faith, and to bring us back to living on our knees – especially after we have escaped doing so for a while.
Behind every temptation is a hidden evil or intent that our natural minds/eyes can’t figure out – as long as our eyes are still shopping for what’s in our favour (monetarily or personally). Victory over such is a product of the premium we place on life (Christ), or on the divine life that the Father is offering thereby; even while our eyes remain glued to the commandment(s) that springs from the Word of Christ or the actual word of God.
A believer hasn’t really surrendered his life to Christ-as long as he hasn’t truly surrendered the worldly life within his soul. The doctrine of Christ empowers us to do so; to thereby become kings of Righteousness and peace (Lk. 12:15-31, 1Tim. 6:3, Heb. 7:2)
The Christian way is actually the way of Faith that is in Christ. It is God’s way of helping us become irresponsive to this world.
The more we can see things through the eyes or light constituted in Christ and God, the more tangible God’s righteousness would become – and the more peace of mind we would have. The peace found in Christ is a spiritually tangible commodity.
Nothing threatens us from truly living by God’s power (Christ) like known and unknown alternatives we have to the life of faith; and the day we begin to see the need to deny such alternatives or not settle for less than a life fueled by God’s power (Christ) is the day we would be inspired to place the right premium on our daily bread; on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the Father (Tit. 2:12, Matt. 6:9-11).
Fear breeds wherever we don’t put faith first; whenever we are not prepared to count losses or delay a gratification; even while tenaciously holding faith (Matt. 6:24-34, 1 Tim. 3:9). So, the measure of Christ’s life we have can be traceable to how well we have submitted to God through men; and have thereby become meek (Exo. 3:1, Num. 12:3).
The Christian Faith is so precious; that, when the design or pressures around this present world makes food and raiment the only thing constant or available, and leaves all other things (necessitates) as variables, a believer who is constantly being fed with the faith that is in Christ should be willing to hold unto that life and be fully purified by it until he crosses into the seasons where the hope of eternal life would be gradually made tangible to him (Ps. 110:3, 1Tim. 6:8, 1Pet. 1:22).
The day that a believer dares to start living in the sight of the Lord is the day he starts counting as losses, things that were gain to him while he was in love with this world; while on a self-seeking adventure with the life-draining life that exists without (or outside) Christ (Phil. 3:7).
